Brian Bateman Blend

 The Brian Batemman Blend

Inspired by a pair of depression era cowboy guitars – lovingly entrusted to singer/songwriter Brian Paul Bateman by his grandfather – the weathered instruments sang the first notes of a song that became “Wedding Gown” and provided Brian with an intriguing musical path he recognized as an otherworldly calling. Words and phrases swirled in Brian’s head – sometimes for weeks on end.

Resulting in collections of colorful images married to undeniably familiar scenarios, they are the epitome of true love songs. Heartbreaking. Ironic. Comedic. Poignant, powerful poetry bedded on melody. Sounds for the perpetually broken hearted – taking aim at love’s repeat offenders.

As the music took form and began to spread throughout the Boise area, musicians who shared in the vision began to converge. The Brian Bateman Blend began as a three-piece in the summer of 2010. The group features Brian Paul Bateman (vocals and acoustic guitars), Trevor Arana (drums and percussion), and Matt Sisco (bass). The band added guitarist Gary Glaesemann in the fall in preparation for recording their debut album. Influenced by every type of music imaginable, and with players who cite Johnny Cash, Rush, Brandi Carlile, The Smiths, Elvis Presley, k.d. lang, Todd Snider, and KISS as iconic heroes, The Brian Bateman Blend are a melting pot of rock, country, alternative, pop, soul, blues, and rockabilly. The blending of many styles creates a unique sound among today’s popular offerings. The music is in a category all to itself… It’s simply Blend.
