Rise Up Rhythm & Song from around the globe Barabajaba is a percussion ensemble based on the Biug Island of Hawaii.

It is our devierse musical backgrounds and unique sound that inspired this project. “Rise Up” is a collage of percussion and song based on traditions from Cuba, Brasil, West Africa, India and Haiti. This crossover of traditions is indeed a sign of the times both musically and culturally. Although we are not the first to recognize the deep parallels between these traditions, we are honored to be part of the continued process. In order to offer our full musicianship and soul, all tracks were recorded live without looping. With this project, as so many great musicians have, we hope to elevate these ancient styles to a new level of respect and appreciation. It is out intention every to we play to present a conciousness-raising party to the global village that will move your body, shake your soul and dance your troubles away.
